Sr.Assistant Director – Finance & Accounting

Le Méridien Al Khobar, part of Marriott International, is seeking a Sr. Assistant Director – Finance & Accounting to support financial leadership and oversee the daily operations of the accounting office.
This role partners closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting to drive financial performance, maintain strong internal controls, and provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team.
Role scope
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations while supporting financial planning, reporting, compliance, and business decision-making to ensure profitability and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
1) Financial leadership & team management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve performance and financial goals.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes accountability and high performance.
- Ensure policies, SOPs, and disciplinary procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
- Support recruitment, training, and retention of top finance talent.
2) Financial reporting & analysis
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Ensure profit & loss statements are accurate and aligned with financial goals.
- Provide analytical insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis for capital expenditures.
3) Compliance, controls & risk management
- Maintain a strong control environment to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, local regulations, and audit requirements.
Monitor tax compliance and ensure accurate accruals and filings.
4) Business partnering & operational support
- Provide financial guidance to department leaders to improve performance.
- Support operating departments with budgeting and cost control.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly to drive informed decisions.
- Advise leadership on financial and operational risks and opportunities.
5) Projects & continuous improvement
- Analyze financial data to identify cost savings and productivity improvements.
- Support internal and external audits and regulatory reporting.
- Participate in management meetings and performance reviews.
- Implement best practices to enhance financial processes and efficiency.
Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, controls, and hospitality accounting practices.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
