Millennium Resort Salalah is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chief Accountant to lead the finance function and ensure robust financial management across the property. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to the financial integrity and operational success of a leading resort in Oman.
The Role
As Chief Accountant, you will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance while supporting strategic decision-making. Your leadership will help maintain strong internal controls, optimize cash flow, and ensure accurate financial data to support the resort’s growth and performance.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in line with accounting standards and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transaction completeness.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash management activities.
Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets.
- Support procurement processes, including vendor negotiations and contract reviews.
- Introduce cost-control initiatives while maintaining service quality.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance against budget targets.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
Leadership & Systems Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
- Promote continuous improvement and training initiatives.
- Recommend and optimize accounting systems and technology.
Health, Safety & Sustainability
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
- Promote safe and sustainable operational practices.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
Experience
- Proven experience in hotel accounting or hospitality finance.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and financial software.
- Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting tools.
