Millennium Resort Salalah is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Chief Accountant to lead the finance function and ensure robust financial management across the property. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to the financial integrity and operational success of a leading resort in Oman.

The Role

As Chief Accountant, you will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance while supporting strategic decision-making. Your leadership will help maintain strong internal controls, optimize cash flow, and ensure accurate financial data to support the resort’s growth and performance.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in line with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transaction completeness.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash management activities.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets.
  • Support procurement processes, including vendor negotiations and contract reviews.
  • Introduce cost-control initiatives while maintaining service quality.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget targets.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations.

Leadership & Systems Improvement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.
  • Promote continuous improvement and training initiatives.
  • Recommend and optimize accounting systems and technology.

Health, Safety & Sustainability

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
  • Promote safe and sustainable operational practices.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).

Experience

  • Proven experience in hotel accounting or hospitality finance.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting systems and financial software.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and reporting tools.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
