One&Only Reethi Rah is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Team Leader, Accounting to join its Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a world-renowned luxury resort known for delivering exceptional guest experiences in the Maldives.
Job Summary
As Team Leader, Accounting, you will supervise the General Accounts section and work closely with the Finance Manager on budgeting, forecasting, tax matters, financial reporting, and month-end closing activities. This role is essential in maintaining financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Supervise General Accounts, including Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Tax functions.
- Review and approve journal vouchers to ensure accurate General Ledger postings.
- Support efficient and accurate month-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly reports to Corporate Office, management, and third parties.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations, trial balance, and balance sheet schedules.
- Assist in reviewing monthly Profit & Loss statements and financial commentaries.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Support monthly forecasts and annual budget preparation.
- Prepare financial commentaries, owner reports, and board reports.
- Liaise with corporate teams on financial reporting and Hyperion submissions.
- Audit, Compliance & Taxation
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare audit schedules.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure compliance with local laws.
- Attend tax seminars and monitor regulatory updates to ensure resort compliance.
- Conduct monthly audit testing and compliance checks on policies and procedures.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Conduct compliance reviews on procurement, inventory, and petty cash processes.
- Track critical payments to avoid penalties or service disruptions.
- Assist in implementing new financial systems and process improvements.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and support accounting team members.
- Ensure proper onboarding and training for new employees.
- Maintain strong communication and working relationships across departments.
- Promote professionalism, teamwork, and a guest-focused culture.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Participate in training, team events, and departmental initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc tasks and special projects assigned by Finance leadership.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- Knowledge of Accpac or similar accounting systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; additional qualifications are a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Leadership ability with strong interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for luxury service and guest satisfaction.
- Team player with excellent organizational and communication skills.
