Raffles Sentosa Singapore is seeking a strategic and visionary finance leader to join its executive team as Cluster Director of Finance (Raffles Sentosa Singapore). This is a rare opportunity to shape the financial success of one of Singapore’s most prestigious luxury resorts.
About the Property
An oasis immersed in well-being and nature, Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa is the first all-villa property in Singapore. Located on a clifftop on Sentosa Island, the resort features 62 contemporary private pool villas surrounded by lush tropical gardens and breathtaking views of the South China Sea.
Each spacious villa, starting from 230 square metres, is designed as a sanctuary for extended stays. Guests enjoy the legendary Raffles Butler service, the sustainably crafted Sentosa Sling, five distinctive dining establishments, a next-generation wellness spa, and a grand ballroom for exceptional events.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Cluster General Manager, the Cluster Director of Finance is responsible for the overall financial management of the hotels. This includes financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, internal controls, and strategic financial planning aligned with brand and international accounting standards.
You will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, driving financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term profitability.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Performance Management
- Review monthly financial statements, management reports, and forecasts thoroughly.
- Provide strategic and analytical insights to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
- Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and drive sustainable growth.
- Develop and monitor annual business plans, budgets, and monthly financial reports.
- Ensure all financial reports present a true and fair view of the hotels’ financial position.
Compliance & Governance
- Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and manage business risks.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, brand standards, and accepted accounting principles.
- Oversee timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Lead financial audits and ensure findings are resolved promptly.
- Supervise contract execution and legal agreements to protect the hotels’ interests.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, supervise, and develop the finance and purchasing teams.
- Provide coaching and ensure high performance across direct reports.
- Train stakeholders on internal accounting procedures and control systems.
- Foster a strong control environment and promote continuous improvement.
Stakeholder & Owner Relations
- Maintain effective communication with hotel ownership regarding financial performance.
- Collaborate closely with corporate finance teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Monitor banking activities to maintain adequate cash flow and meet financial obligations.
- Use financial data, market trends, and business intelligence to anticipate operational needs.
Operational Excellence & Sustainability
- Drive process improvements, cost management, and revenue enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure workplace safety and security compliance within the department.
- Support Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant senior managerial experience in the hospitality industry.
- Strong business acumen with strategic decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, planning, and coordination abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly meticulous, and capable of working independently.
- Strong time management and effective change management skills.
