Waldorf Astoria Platte Island in Seychelles is looking for a proactive Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations and ensure the uninterrupted supply of goods and services. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who combines strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage supply chains in remote locations.

Position Overview

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, and logistics coordination to support all resort departments. The role demands strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate island supply challenges effectively.

Key Duties

Strategic Procurement

  • Source reliable suppliers and negotiate favorable pricing and contract terms.
  • Evaluate vendor performance to ensure consistent quality and service.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with local and international suppliers.

Inventory & Cost Efficiency

  • Implement effective inventory planning to prevent shortages and excess stock.
  • Monitor purchasing patterns and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement aligns with financial targets and operational needs.

Systems & Reporting

  • Operate procurement platforms such as BirchStreet for efficient purchasing workflows.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and generate reports for management review.
  • Support audit requirements and compliance with internal policies.

Island Logistics Coordination

  • Plan shipments and delivery schedules considering remote island constraints.
  • Coordinate with freight providers and ensure compliance with import procedures.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize supply disruptions.

Ideal Candidate

  • 3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, ideally within luxury hospitality.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and leadership capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to cost control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software (e.g., BirchStreet).
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a remote island setting with logistical complexities.
