About the Opportunity

Grand Hyatt Singapore is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director of Finance to join its Leadership Committee. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s financial strategy, safeguarding financial integrity, driving business performance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support sustainable growth.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, with a functional reporting line to Regional Finance, the Director of Finance will partner closely with hotel leadership, ownership representatives, Regional Finance, Commercial Services, and operational departments to maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with Hyatt standards and local regulations.

The Role

The Director of Finance will lead all financial operations of the hotel, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and business performance analysis. The successful candidate will transform financial data into meaningful business insights, identify opportunities for operational improvement, support investment decisions, and develop a high-performing Finance team while maintaining the highest standards of governance and financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the hotel’s financial planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance review processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and executive business analyses.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, local regulations, tax requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Provide financial insights to improve revenue growth, profitability, productivity, cash flow, and return on investment.
  • Support capital expenditure planning, FF&E budgeting, owner-funded projects, and asset management initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales & Marketing, Revenue Management, and Commercial teams to enhance overall hotel performance.
  • Monitor business performance through financial analysis, variance reporting, and KPI tracking.
  • Drive continuous process improvements, automation initiatives, and the adoption of data analytics and AI-enabled finance solutions.
  • Oversee treasury management, cash flow planning, balance sheet integrity, and working capital optimization.
  • Manage statutory reporting, audits, tax compliance, and owner reporting requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team while fostering accountability, engagement, and succession planning.
  • Build strong relationships with ownership representatives, regional finance teams, external auditors, and key stakeholders.
  • Promote financial discipline while supporting operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of senior finance leadership experience within the hospitality industry.
  • Previous supervisory external audit experience with an international accounting firm is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel financial management, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, taxation, and statutory reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of USALI, management reporting, cash management, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial analysis.
  • Sound knowledge of hotel operations, Food & Beverage, revenue management, owner relations, and asset management.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to convert financial data into strategic business decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams within a matrix organizational structure.
  • Proficiency in financial systems, Microsoft Excel, ERP solutions, business intelligence tools, and data analytics.
  • Comfortable working with automation technologies and AI-enabled finance solutions.
