Financial Controller

About the Opportunity

Accor is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to lead the finance function at one of its hotels in Panjim, Goa. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving financial performance, maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with the Executive Committee to achieve the hotel’s business objectives.

The Role

The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, compliance, and performance analysis. Working closely with the General Manager, Executive Committee, and department heads, the successful candidate will provide strategic financial guidance, improve operational efficiency, and support sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager, Executive Committee, and department heads to provide strategic financial leadership and business support.
• Analyze financial performance, identify business trends, and recommend strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Support key business decisions related to revenue growth, cost management, investments, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement annual operating budgets, capital expenditure budgets, and rolling forecasts.
• Prepare, review, and present monthly financial statements, management reports, and performance analyses.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, segregation of duties, and compliance procedures.
• Monitor financial risks and ensure compliance with internal audit recommendations and regulatory requirements.
• Attend revenue management meetings to evaluate business performance and identify revenue optimization opportunities.
• Approve cash disbursements and ensure all financial transactions are properly authorized and documented.
• Develop and oversee credit management and collection procedures in line with corporate policies.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial planning activities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Master’s Degree or MBA is preferred.
• CPA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis.
• Proven leadership experience managing finance teams within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, business performance analysis, and cash flow management.
• Excellent understanding of internal controls, compliance, risk management, and financial governance.
• Experience with hotel financial systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and variance analysis skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while driving financial excellence.
