Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha is seeking an experienced Credit Manager to join its Finance & Accounting team. The Role
The Credit Manager is a key leadership position within the hotel’s Finance Department, responsible for managing credit operations, accounts receivable collections, and risk management. The successful candidate will ensure that credit is extended responsibly, outstanding balances are collected efficiently, and hotel policies and financial controls are consistently maintained.
Working closely with the Director of Finance, General Manager, Sales, Events, Front Office, and Reservations teams, the Credit Manager will support strong cash flow management and minimize financial risk exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Operations & Risk Management
• Evaluate and process credit applications for corporate accounts, travel agencies, wholesale partners, and group/event clients.
• Establish appropriate credit limits and payment terms based on financial analysis, references, and risk assessments.
• Monitor guest ledgers, city ledgers, and advance deposit accounts to identify potential credit risks.
• Review and approve high-balance guest accounts during their stay.
• Ensure compliance with hotel credit policies and financial procedures.
Collections & Accounts Receivable
• Oversee timely billing and collection of all city ledger and accounts receivable balances.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices through professional communication with clients and business partners.
• Coordinate with Sales, Events, and operational departments to resolve billing disputes and payment delays.
• Manage overdue accounts and support recovery actions, including external collection or legal processes when required.
• Maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients while ensuring payment commitments are achieved.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare and review monthly Accounts Receivable Aging Reports.
• Analyze outstanding balances, collection performance, and potential bad debt exposure.
• Conduct regular credit review meetings with the Director of Finance and General Manager.
• Maintain accurate provisions for doubtful accounts and recommend write-offs when necessary.
• Ensure accurate month-end closing procedures for the accounts receivable function.
Team Collaboration & Policy Enforcement
• Work closely with Front Office, Reservations, Sales, and Events teams to ensure compliance with credit procedures.
• Provide training to hotel colleagues on payment procedures, credit card verification, and billing accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, PCI data security standards, and corporate internal controls.
• Support continuous improvement of credit and collection processes.
Candidate Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in credit management, accounts receivable, or collections, preferably within a luxury or large-scale hotel environment.
• Strong understanding of hotel credit procedures, billing processes, and accounts receivable management.
• Experience with hospitality Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, or Infor HMS.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive financial discussions with clients.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
