Financial Controller

The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa is looking for a Financial Controller.

A strategic finance leadership role supporting the property’s business plan, brand initiatives, and ROI – ensuring strong financial results through disciplined accounting, controls, reporting, and team leadership.

Role focus

• Act as the property’s strategic financial business leader, aligning finance execution with brand/service strategy and property goals.
• Drive accurate, timely financial reporting, analysis, and decision support for leadership.
• Maintain a strong control environment to safeguard assets, manage risk, and improve profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Team leadership & audits
• Lead and influence the accounting team; promote performance, teamwork, and open communication.
• Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audits; address audit findings and corrections.
• Support performance appraisals, SOP/LSOP discipline, and fair policy administration.
• Accounting, controls & compliance
• Ensure P&L accuracy (proper cost matching, correct account coding, timely statement delivery).
• Reconcile the balance sheet with proper supporting documentation.
• Ensure taxes are current, correctly applied, and properly collected/accrued.
• Maintain compliance with SOPs/LSOPs, permits/licenses, and (where applicable) vendor contracts.
• Leverage centralized accounting/shared services where used.
• Financial guidance & business partnering
• Provide timely financial updates to executives and management; participate in critique/review meetings.
• Advise the Director of Finance on operating/financial issues and translate financial concepts into clear actions for departments.
• Support budgeting and resource control across the property.

Candidate profile (as stated)

• 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting (or related major).
• No prior work experience required (per posting).
