Director of Finance

About the Opportunity

One&Only Resorts Le Saint Géran, located on a private peninsula in Mauritius, is seeking an experienced Director, Finance to lead the full financial function of the resort. This is a senior leadership role within one of the world’s most iconic luxury island resorts, responsible for ensuring financial integrity, governance, and strategic business partnership across all operations.

The Role

The Director, Finance will provide strategic and operational financial leadership to the resort, acting as a key advisor to the General Manager, Executive Committee, Owners, and Global Office. The role ensures strong financial controls, compliance, reporting accuracy, and performance optimization while driving long-term value creation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the entire finance function of the hotel, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, compliance frameworks, and risk management processes.
• Ensure full compliance with Resort Management Agreement, including reporting and owner governance requirements.
• Act as primary financial liaison between Owners, Global Office, and hotel leadership team.
• Oversee daily revenue reconciliation across PMS, POS, and accounting systems with variance analysis.
• Drive automation, standardization, and optimization of finance processes and systems.
• Monitor purchasing, procurement, payroll, cash handling, and accounts payable controls.
• Manage cash flow planning, working capital, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, statutory reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning in coordination with department heads.
• Deliver monthly management reports with detailed variance analysis and insights for ownership and corporate office.
• Ensure integration and control of finance systems (PMS, POS, payroll, accounting systems).
• Partner with operational leaders to improve profitability, cost efficiency, and financial performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, building a strong culture of accountability and excellence.

General Accounting Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and financial reporting package.
• Maintain strict adherence to hotel accounting policies and Uniform System of Accounts.
• Enforce strong internal controls across all revenue and expense cycles.
• Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions and compliance with corporate standards.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Professional qualification preferred: CPA / CA / ACCA / CMA.
• Minimum 3–5 years in a senior finance leadership role within hospitality.
• Strong expertise in hotel financial operations, internal controls, and reporting systems.
• Proven leadership ability with strong team development skills.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and business partnering capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of hospitality systems (PMS, POS, accounting platforms).
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
